[He coughs, looking at the wall again. The entire absurdity of the situation hits him once more. Here he is trying not to run all the while his rival is making cereal dumplings.

Ridiculous.]

[This will drag on forever, he knows it. Hell, it might just escape his grasp. So he needs to do this.

Once you're done preparing them, let's go to the rooftop and fight. I need to vent some steam.

[He blinks, a little surprised.

Anyone else would question it, or at least ask. Akira, otoh, just shrugs]

[He's relieved about not being asked why, really.]

[he nods and finishes up rolling the dumplings.

Then stares at them. They are already losing their shape, oozing a bit. It's the saddest sight.

He sighs and pops them in the freezer]

Alright, let's hope they haven't escaped by the time we're done.

Sentient cereal? Now that would be amusing. Let me get my sword. I'd rather not use magic for this, I haven't eaten since two weeks ago.

[Ahh, so clearly an unplanned battle. Scene change! Rooftop.]

[Akira takes the time to get his Big Knife (he already had his butterfly knife on him, as usual) before heading up there. The weather is slowly warming, and he pauses to soak it in. Still chilly, but nice]

Hmm... hopefully no one wanders up here this time of day.

You've never come up and seen others settle their issues before or have a friendly sparring match?

[He brands his sword, briefly spinning it before lunging himself towards the other. This. This is easier for him to understand, to help his mind prepare. To see if Akira can keep up with him. He knows it's not exactly healthy, but is this world even healthy? Besides, if Akira can't dodge this, what's the point of...hmm.]

[And he spins to the side with his usual dexterity, spinning his blade lazily. It'd look casual if you didn't know where to look- his tense back, his raised tail. He's on alert.]

-wow, can't even manage a conversation?

Why speak, when actions can do the talking?

[He turns to attack him again, the wings on his back opened in full. His movements, despite the lack of wind, are precise and calculated. Nothing a kelpie can't dodge, however.

He holds his gigantic sword with his left hand, looking for an opening, keeping his blood pumping, smiling the entire time.]

This is way more entertaining that trying to make cereal soup.

[His guard is up, and he jumps away again, starting to circle a bit]

You really must be pent-up.

How'd you come to that conclusion?

[His voice is almost literally dripping with sarcasm. He watches the other, waiting for him to come towards him head-on, holding his sword like a shield.]

Oh, just a vibe I'm getting.

[Thier tones don't seem to match at all, his own teasing to counter the sarcasm. Yet it fits well for them. Finally, he stops just dodging, ducking low (or well, as low as his tall ass can manage) and darting forward a bit, letting his slightly too-long arm cover the distance to try and tag him with his blade]

[No words now, just the twisted enjoyment as he's briefly pushed backwards as they clash, blade against blade causing sparks to fly due to their monster strength.

It's odd how the other's height didn't seem to bother him as much anymore. Maybe because he knew, eventually, it might change. Was he making excuses for himself or Akira? He didnt know anymore.]

I had a dream last night, you know. I was back in my world on the ship.

[He keeps up the pressure, lashing out, even as they talk. His ears pin back, the only clue how much the shift in topic unnerves him]

[Subtle enough for most, but not Goro Akechi.]

It's quite amusing, really.

[Only someone like Goro would find that type of dream funny. He pauses as he makes sure not to lose his footing.]

Except instead of calling him Joker, or Amamiya, it was...Akira Kurusu. It seems even my dreams and nightmares aren't shielded from you.

[His ears stay pinned, but his gaze is intense, heated. Not angry just... Elevated. His strikes get a little sloppy but also gain more force.]

Maybe you were just seeing my world. Weirder things have happened.

[Akechi had dipped into his memory soup in the Pale, after all.

... only he knows that's a lie. Because even then, at their most desperate point, the Akechi he knew never once called him by his name in the Metaverse. Only Joker.]

[He can't help but grin sarcastically at that, his teeth briefly flashing before he tries to push him a little backwards and gain the upper edge.]

I think we both know that's a lie.

[Words he'd told him before, when they had been fused together.]

Besides, I've noticed enough subtle differences between the both of you to know the differences. My conclusion is thus; it seems the superior twin is replacing the other. Even in my memories.

[It's the type of praise that could only come from Akechi.]

[If they weren't fighting- if this was back in the kitchen where he could think about his words- he might have just blushed and awkwardly gone back to whatever he was doing. Laugh it off. But as Akechi talks he pushes Akira back just a bit, putting him on the defensive. His blood is pumping. Like this he is as close to Joker as he ever is- wild and unflinchingly honest]

[And precisely why Akechi wanted to fight like this - much like his rival, he too has trouble speaking with words. Finding what he needs to do or say when he actually wants something that isn't just for himself.

The reply surprises him, as evident by the wings on his back swishing backwards, almost in awe of the brutality of that answer. His own heart is beating wildly as he brings the knife and blade closer to their faces - one wrong slip and either of them could end up with a disfiguration, or at least a very painful wound. Brief hesitation maybe. Waiting to see how the other will react.]

You really are quite idiosyncratic.

[It could mean that he's eccentric, or maybe it's Goro's way of telling him he's unique in his eyes.]

[He doesn't flinch back. If anything he leans in. He is reminded of the last time he was pinned by a sword:

He laughs harshly- if Kamoshida saw him now he'd piss himself all over again.]

Looks like you bring out the other sides of me.

[They are so close that Goro can smell him. Coffee, salt water...crushed cereal...

It's enough to drive most men mad or run away in fear.]

Funny, that was going to be my next accusation.

[Or always were. It feels like Akechi has infected him with madness. But it's good to know he's not the only one]

[It's like he can read into the other's thoughts, or they simply know this all along. He winks as he tries to push him back some more.]

[But he digs his hooves in, refusing to be moved, refusing to let the lock end. His eyes keep flicking down towards Akechi's mouth as they talk.]

I'm starting to wonder if I always was too.

[He's not the only one looking at the other's mouth and face.]

There are more rules compared to other parts of the world...and different universes. What this place is doing right, at the very least, is fully releasing us from the shackles of society and what we shouldn't or should do.
