It's quite amusing, really.

[Only someone like Goro would find that type of dream funny. He pauses as he makes sure not to lose his footing.]

Except instead of calling him Joker, or Amamiya, it was...Akira Kurusu. It seems even my dreams and nightmares aren't shielded from you.

[His ears stay pinned, but his gaze is intense, heated. Not angry just... Elevated. His strikes get a little sloppy but also gain more force.]

Maybe you were just seeing my world. Weirder things have happened.

[Akechi had dipped into his memory soup in the Pale, after all.

... only he knows that's a lie. Because even then, at their most desperate point, the Akechi he knew never once called him by his name in the Metaverse. Only Joker.]

[He can't help but grin sarcastically at that, his teeth briefly flashing before he tries to push him a little backwards and gain the upper edge.]

I think we both know that's a lie.

[Words he'd told him before, when they had been fused together.]

Besides, I've noticed enough subtle differences between the both of you to know the differences. My conclusion is thus; it seems the superior twin is replacing the other. Even in my memories.

[It's the type of praise that could only come from Akechi.]

[If they weren't fighting- if this was back in the kitchen where he could think about his words- he might have just blushed and awkwardly gone back to whatever he was doing. Laugh it off. But as Akechi talks he pushes Akira back just a bit, putting him on the defensive. His blood is pumping. Like this he is as close to Joker as he ever is- wild and unflinchingly honest]

[And precisely why Akechi wanted to fight like this - much like his rival, he too has trouble speaking with words. Finding what he needs to do or say when he actually wants something that isn't just for himself.

The reply surprises him, as evident by the wings on his back swishing backwards, almost in awe of the brutality of that answer. His own heart is beating wildly as he brings the knife and blade closer to their faces - one wrong slip and either of them could end up with a disfiguration, or at least a very painful wound. Brief hesitation maybe. Waiting to see how the other will react.]

You really are quite idiosyncratic.

[It could mean that he's eccentric, or maybe it's Goro's way of telling him he's unique in his eyes.]

[He doesn't flinch back. If anything he leans in. He is reminded of the last time he was pinned by a sword:

[They are so close that Goro can smell him. Coffee, salt water...crushed cereal...

It's enough to drive most men mad or run away in fear.]

Funny, that was going to be my next accusation.

[Or always were. It feels like Akechi has infected him with madness. But it's good to know he's not the only one]

[It's like he can read into the other's thoughts, or they simply know this all along. He winks as he tries to push him back some more.]

[But he digs his hooves in, refusing to be moved, refusing to let the lock end. His eyes keep flicking down towards Akechi's mouth as they talk.]

I'm starting to wonder if I always was too.

We are Japanese, after all.

[He's not the only one looking at the other's mouth and face.]

There are more rules compared to other parts of the world...and different universes. What this place is doing right, at the very least, is fully releasing us from the shackles of society and what we shouldn't or should do.

It took a while for even someone like me to realize this.

[It's an opening. A crack in the door. And with the same bold recklessness that served him well in the Metaverse Akira darts in, aiming to steal those damned lips that keep taunting him. Like this, with their locked blades, Akechi can easily slice his face and neck open, if he wants. Hell, he might even slice himself open if he's not careful, the steel ticking his Adam's apple.

[There's a metalic smell as he notices he unconciously moved his sword away from Akira and closer to himself, nicking at his neck. Goro turns the blade sideways and tosses it down, as it clanks on the rooftop, forgotten.

He's craved for physical touch all of his life. Positive physical touch that actually meant something. Denying this now would be folly, and he had purposefully worked towards it.

As their lips touch, it feels like he's swallowing lightining, spreading all over his body like the first time he had summoned a Persona.

He wasn't lying either; perhaps only Akira could have pulled this off properly when it came to the two and lived to tell the tale. Amamiya is like a distant memory now, tied to a place he can never return to, nor that he wants, really.

Now that it is happening, his mind races in all directions and what it means in the long run. He does realize, very, very quickly how much he likes it, even if he has no idea what he's doing. Violently, he shoves Akira's knife away so he can grab his hand and smash their heads closer. He never realized until that how badly he's been wanting this.]

[He barely has to shove the knife at all, because the moment it's clear Akechi isn't going to gut him like a fish (and that had it's own appeal) his hold on the weapon loosened to nothing, and he grasps back at Akechi like he's drowning. Ironic, maybe.

The comparison to summoning a Persona is apt- he feels it too. The adrenaline that only that Awakening really compares to- all the hidden wants rushing out all at once. He's a bit more experienced than Akechi at this specific act, but it feels like all that flies right out of his head. Their noses bump awkwardly and he has no idea where to put his other hand. So in the end he just grips the side of Akechi's shirt desperately]

[If Akira had a set idea of how it would go, this is certainly not it.

Goro's inexperience and clear desperation for being touched is going into overdrive s he moves his free hand, also not sure where to place it. Half thinking about grabbing him by the collar so they can be the same height. In the end, he allows himself to be led on by the other, trying to match his moves.]

Here, let me-

[he tilts his head slightly so they slot together a little better. The height is a little awkward, and he has to lean down more than is comfortable. All the more reason to change to something else. The idea makes him grin against Akechi's mouth, feeling giddy to the point of near mania]

[Goro, meanwhile, wonders if he should push himself into the air a little. Or ask to become taller...it makes him surprisingly self-concious, so when he feels Akira smiling, he briefly pulls away, looking surprisingly vulnerable. Maybe that's why he expects the worse.]

What are you laughing at?

I'm not. Just thinking how this will be way easier once I'm a demon.

[Well, that did confirm he was going to go with it.

Goro can't deny his own excitement at the prospect.]

[He leans back in, resting his head against Goro's, his ears flicking a bit at the other's hair tickling them]

Wouldn't dream of it.

[He can't help but laugh at that.]

This feels...nice.

[He's silent for a few seconds, pondering those words, realizing the fear that Akira had. Then he grins and laughs.]

Ha! This changes nothing when it comes to that. If anything, it simply means the stakes are more...intense now.
