[akechi can't see his slight smile at that. But it's in his voice. He washes his hands before setting to work]
So, I was thinking. Cereal is just compacted grain. So I can probably manage some kind of rough dumplings?
[the cereal in question: plain corn flakes]
no subject
It could work. As long as there not too much sugar.
[He's more of a food tester than a chef, however.]
no subject
[he pulls out a plastic bag and starts pouring the flakes inside it]
no subject
This is going to be horrible, and we both know it.
no subject
[the bag of flakes sits on the counter, and he lays a tea towel delicately over it... then takes out a rolling pin from the drawer-]
Loud.
[- before just smacking the shit out of the bag with it with hilarious levels of violence]
no subject
[He watches just as the roller comes out, wonder why he says that word and -
God I wish that was me.- more violence put in it than he would expect.]How thin are you going to pound it?
no subject
[Whamwham]
Or it'll fall apart. [wham] It'd be better if we had the equipment I use at the Lucky but [wham] I'm not messing up our good fucking coffee grinder on this.
[WhamwhamWHAM. He pauses and peeks under the towel, not looking satisfied at all]
no subject
Are you sure you're alright?
no subject
[His brow pinches a bit and he glances away. In his defense he tends to be louder at work. But... also the physical effort... helps him not think of the earlier awkwardness. He doesn't go back to hitting it, instead just leaning on his palms and rolling the pin back and forth, his back bunching a bit from the effort. Not nearly as difficult as rolling dough, but he wants to do this right]
no subject
He leans on the other sound of the counter.]
If you're regaling yourself with such wanton abandon while making coffee at Lucky, maybe I should pay a visit more often.
no subject
You should. But I'm not asking Michael-san to give you any discounts.
no subject
[Not that he deserved any, considering what he'd done back then and the fact they knew what he was trying to do.]
Are we going to eat this on the network? It's simply too bad the technology is questionable.
no subject
[He doesn't sound too concerned- he doesn't really think Horatio and Michael would fire him for some shitty soup. But he DOES have a reputation to maintain.]
1/2
You really think that you'll be labeled as cereal soup guy? Please, if anything that might be a badge of notoriety. Do you know how many bizarre combinations I've eaten for my food blog? Charcoal Marzipan and Horse flesh ice cream are barely scratching the surface.
2/2
Ahhh...forgive me. I'm not about to make horse flesh ice cream in this world. It tastes much better just as sashimi.
[Akechi what are you even.]
no subject
Wow, Akechi. If you wanted to eat me you should have just asked.
no subject
I'd have to kill you first. I don't like my raw meat alive .
no subject
[It's not working. Akira is just smirking]
no subject
Who says, I haven't already? [He flashes his sharp teeth.] Or maybe I'm just trying something new...
no subject
[He turns back to his corn flakes, his tail swishing]
Is horse any good? I've actually been kinda curious.
no subject
[Well, that went farther than expected. He turns his head to the wall to think about it.]
It's very good sliced thin with freshly grinded wasabi and a hint of sweet soya sauce. I also think I had horse steak at a yakiniku restaurant before, but it didn't taste all that different. Imagine a mixture between a piece of good marbled meat and a piece of liver and that should give you an idea.

[Is that encouragement or teasing him about what he's about to make?]
Octopus, when done badly, tastes like flavorless rubber. But a good sushi chef will roast it just the right consistency.

I have yet to find really good seafood here. I think it's too cold.

You could also go try your luck at the 777 clone that is own by one of the people here and takes items from back in their own world. I've found a lot of it is surprisingly similar in taste to our own world.
