[And it says a lot that while Akira was not in the room itself he was lingering nearby, his ears perking the moment he hears Akechi's foot falls. He turns, looking in the open doorway, eyes bright cherry-blood red]

...that was fast.

[His tone lacks any humor, just honest almost breathy surprise. Looks like they are both pretty tuned up]

[He's still gasping for his breath as he looks up and his eyes dart to Akira's own. It's hard to miss them, considering how bright they are. A smile creeps up to his face as he grins with his pointed teeth - a strong sense of pride at Akira's words.]

Well...we can't all be so lucky to have teleportation powers, so I do my best to make up for it.

[He steps into the room, closing the door behind him and leaning against it. His stance is relaxed and at ease, but his gold-dipped tail was twitching like a hunting cat's]

Well, it's a little flattering. Or was the club that boring?

[He watches him with interest, before Goro realizes that he might have sounded...overzealous?]

I...you asked?

[He can't even come up with a proper excuse.]

[It makes him grin, showing off his fangs]

[He blushes and starts fiddling with one of his curls]

[Normally Akechi would see the blushing as a sign of weakness, but right now it feels oddly...tender? Is that the word he was searching for?

Shit. He hates this. He hates how Akira makes him feel emotions that he thought had been dead and buried for years.]

[Sadly he can't talk adoringly for long. This is Goro Akechi, after all. He stands near the window, wishing he had something to fiddle with.]

[He can feel a stalemate starting to build between them, a wall of awkwardness and uncertainty.

But Akechi came. And in a hurry too. And it wasn't like Akira had indicated some kind of emergency either. It's enough to make him bold, and he pushes off the door to approach]

I mean it though. I'm glad you came. I... wanted to see you face to face.

[Now this is something he understands more. Confrontation. Rivalry. The push to bring the worst out in each other.]

Why, did you forget how I look already? Or was it the talk of luxury?

[He is, after all wearing a rather damper outfit, complete with a golden chain pinning both sides in a clasp that could easily remind Akira of the same one Loki used to have.]

All the talk DID get my attention though, yeah.

[So blunt! Akechi can't quite say it the same.]

[His eyes narrow a bit as he says that. Waiting. Anticipating.]

[He comes closer, making them almost toe to toe, reaching up to trace his claws along Akechi's shoulder]

You know that. I've always been weak to risk.

[It IS nice that they are toe to toe (or hoof to claw) now, instead of Akira towering over him. At the slight touch, there's smoke exiting his mouth. It's honestly more for show than anything else. Akira is immune to fire now, after all.]

I suppose I like being reminded about it. Maybe that's why you're a luxury to me.

The luxury of someone that can keep up with you? Who wants that thrill?

[He doesn't say 'who isn't scared of you' because that's not true. What is danger without fear? Not worth anything at all. The excitement comes from knowing it and coming back anyway]

But...isn't what defines luxury something that you normally can't have? Without this world, we never would have met.

[That makes him smile. Another victory that he isn't Ren. That Akechi doesn't think of him as Ren.

At this point he's known him longer than he knew the Akechi from his own reality. The one he had destroyed so much for. He can't say he wouldn't do the same thing for him. Maybe worse. No, he HAS done worse already.

His tail swishes happily.]

[He watches the tail swish back and forth before locking eyes with him again.]

You truely are one of a kind. I don't think I've been bored with you just yet.

[There's almost a soft purr to his voice now. It's a side of himself that Goro didn't realize he had.]

[Oh that sound gets him- he's never heard anything like it, unsure if it's the goblin in him or if this was always part of Akechi. His eyes practically glow]

Well, then I better makes sure to keep being... interesting.

[His own voice drops even lower then it usually is at the last word]

[Wow, that's um....

..um...

...okay, now that's a whole new level of being confused for Akechi that just reared its head. It sounds powerful and commanding, and makes him respect Akira more. It's not something he's heard Ren do either, almost as if it was for him exclusively.

Or maybe his imagination is taking over again. He needs to prove himself before he feels weak.

Suddenly without a word, he grabs Akira by both his shoulders and attempts switch their places so he can pin his rival to the wall.]

[And Akira lets him, grinning like a fool as his back hits the wall, panting slightly]

Going to kill me?

[It is satisfying to hear the thwack as Akira's back hit the wall. He looks at his rival with his head slightly tilted, clearly both enjoying this, but also unhinged, much like when he was the Black Mask. There's loud pauses in his breathing as he talks.]

That depends if you want me to. It has been a while, hasn't it?

[it would be different, here. Not like the Cube, where they restored instantly. Not like when he was taken by the Red Fog or the Shade transformation and wasn't really himself. He shivers in what he knows isn't fear]

I'd rather not lose my memories. But...

[He leans towards that bird-like tilt of Akechi's head, breath puffing over his lips]

There's other things we could do.

[He lets off an undignified squawk at that comment, the spikes on his elbow growing a bit without him thinking about it.

Goro Akechi is being led by the moment, and deep down knows he wants this. What he assumes Akira is suggesting. It sends a bolt of lighting down his spine. A luxury always tucked away from his grasp, a lack of human contact that had left him ravenous for it. Forbidden in all aspects, whoch meant he also is unable to know how to proceed. He wants to both kiss Akira but also punch him as he pulls their faces closer together.

As it should be, he supposes.]

[And when Akechi pulls close he closes the distance, all teeth and pressure. He knows Akechi is in the mood for rough. might never BE in the mood for soft. That was okay, he has a taste for blood now too]

[He lets out a small satisfied moan, almost being guided by instincts rather than anything else. There's some blood on his tongue, either Akira's or his own, he's not sure. The coppery taste makes him greedy as he kisses him more passionately.

They'd kiss many times like this before, but either it was due to their talk or just bubbling feelings that had been building for months that made him know his rival was right.

They both needed more now. The cravings of danger that strove both of them into a race. The wings behind him push both their hips together.]

[he grunts softly as Akechi's wings drag him in, but makes no move to pull away. His own flair a bit in surprise, but then settle around as well, flexing and shivering along the delicate bones and webbing.

He knows he SHOULD be embarrassed by how obviously worked up he's getting. But like all the other cravings Ryslig brought out of him, his demonic nature just urges embracing the feeling. Shameless and wild. He breaks the kiss for a moment, wiping the blood from his busted lip along it with a thumb and smearing it like lipstick]

[words. Words, come on think of something clever- he can't, reverting to his fallback of silence. Hoping his lidded eyes and bright flush will express everything he feels]
