MANDATORY CHANGES
● Thick hair with the texture of seaweed that grows at a faster rate than normal.
● A greenish reddish tint to their skin.
● Pointed ears.
● Fingernails and toenails that are thicker and dark in color.
● A taller stature. Kelpies are anywhere from a few inches to a full foot taller than they were as humans.
● The ability to change into a horse. If touched by a human while in horse form, the human will be unable to let go, enabling the Kelpie to drag them around easily.
● Sharpened senses, especially underwater. The senses of sight and hearing will increase greatly, and will function at nearly-normal levels underwater.
● The ability to breathe underwater.
● Skittishness. The character will find that they are easily startled by sudden noises or movements, and may transition into horse form unwillingly when frightened.
● A need to feed on human energy. The Kelpie accomplishes this by dragging a human underwater until they drown. If they go too long without feeding, they'll start to lose their self control.
OPTIONAL CHANGES
● Sharp, needle-like teeth (in any form).
● The ability to drain water from their targets, effectively removing their energy as well as feeding themselves. Kelpie can do this in a few ways, either by giving them a "kiss", or by first making a cut on a part of their victim's body and then leeching the water out. The target will become shriveled up as a result.
● The ability to take an 'in-between' form similar to a centaur in appearance, with a human head, arms, and torso attached to a horse body. Alternatively, kelpies can take on a satyr-like appearance, with horse legs and a humanoid upper body.
● Prehensile, seaweed-like tendrils coming from the back that can be used to entangle humans (in regular form).
● The ability to compel humans to come closer by making eye contact (in any form).
● Red eyes that glow when the Demon is using magic. Akira's eyes will be their natural grey normally, but change when using magic or doing something particularly demonic
● Pointed ears.
● Dark claws instead of fingernails.
● Either two or four long, sharp horns on the head in a variety of shapes and sizes. Akira has two pairs, one that curls foward and a second pair that sweeps back, similar to Satanael. Example 1, Example 2 (Source)
● Large bat-like wings capable of flight. His wings are set lower on his back and are black and gold like Raoul's, lacking the mechanical parts. Example 1, Example 2. (Source)
● A long, whip-like tail. His is black at the base and fades to gold in the last third. It also has a spade tip
● The ability to use dark magic. Demons have four primary spells: the ability to bind a human to the spot so they can't move, the ability to create and control fire, the ability to possess another being for up to an hour, and the ability to steal a human's soul. Possession can only be used once per day, the rest can be used in unlimited amounts.
● Immunity to fire.
● A weakness to salt and holy magic. Demons can't be killed by salt, but touching or consuming it does weaken them and they are unable to cross salt barriers on foot. Holy magic can kill a Demon, although there are few on Ryslig who know it.
● The need to feed on human souls. The Demon accomplishes this with a dark magic spell. Although the human's body remains alive after the spell is complete, they will essentially be in a coma. If they don't feed for an extended amount of time, they will begin to go mad and lose their self-control until they can feed again.
● Once a demon has stolen a soul, they must eat it right away or it will dissipate. It cannot be stored in another vessel.
Optional Changes
● Scales anywhere on the body. Akira has dusting of black and gold scales on his torso, focusing more on his feet, back and shoulders.
● Hooves instead of feet. His are small, gold and shaped like Loki's. Example
● A triangular spade on the end of the tail.
● A demon's tail can be prehensile, but not especially strong (ie. not strong enough for you to hang from it). It can be used as an additional limb, but it would essentially be like trying to pick up an object with one finger.
● The ability to teleport short distances by making a circle of fire on the ground. It is possible for a demon to teleport anything or anyone they can carry. However, it would be much more taxing than teleporting unencumbered.
● A more wicked nature. More than any other creature, Demons tend to be tempted to act on their darkest desires and forsake their human nature.
