[ He hasn't checked to be sure. Maybe that can be their next adventure? ]

Boa has the clean one. [ He plops down properly on the couch for once and tugs Ren down with. Though Boa being brought up again does kind of hit on a topic he's been thinking of getting to. ]

Hey, do you want to come with me to see him tomorrow?

Ah... do you think- do you think he'd actually want me there?

[ There it is. It's probably obvious from Nine's face that he just confirmed something. Turning to face him as he puts his hand on his back. ]

Yeah, I know he will. I talked to Boa about it before... you know, about his feelings on us and seeing you around the place.

[ So Nine got that part covered. ]

What about you, though? How do you feel about being around him?

[The look of surprise on Ren's face is overt- he's used to that 'aha' look on his OWN face, not aimed AT him... and the fact that Nine talked to Boa already...

It's strange, he feels almost touched. And a little on the spot. But mostly touched]

I mean... what happened. I still dream about it sometimes. A lot of the time, honestly. But I don't think it will freak me out to see him any more than it would anyone else.

Probably. I assumed he didn't want to see me, after all that.

[ Just going to rub little circles against his back. There's concern etched on his face as he tilts his head. Nine knows and doesn't know... Boa's death was one of the things that almost broke him completely at camp, but he wasn't the one who was body jacked to kill him. And Nine is used to not thinking of shit like that. It's different and worse for Ren. ]

Hey, does it help when I stay over?

[ They can get to the whole what he got from Boa in a moment. This is a little more important. ]

[He nods slightly]

It's a little embarrassing to say, but yeah. Knowing someone is alive right there. Hearing someone breathing. It helps.

[ Leaning in to press a kiss against his cheek. ]

You know, I would jump at the chance to sleep with you. We don't even have to do anything, you know? Just sleep.

[ It's not something he would think he would ever say, but here they are. ]

[ Shaking his head. ]

[ It sounds like it's like a treat. ]

[That makes him smile softly before sighing]

Well, then I guess I have no excuse to NOT go see Boa.

I'll be there with you. [ He's going to try to pull him closer.

Though Nine is reminded of the other part again. ]

He said he knows you're not a bad person and he knows it wasn't you. He's cool with spending time with you.

...he's more mature than I would have been in his position.

[He tucks in against Nine's side, taking the offered comfort]

[ Giving him a squeeze. ]

He can be pretty mature. [ A beat. ] That also gets me worried, yo. He's in a hurry to grow the hell up and be on equal footing.

[ Huffing out a breath. ]

He was like that even before camp... it just made it worse. It's almost scary.

[linearcrash]

Yeah, I know. I'm trying to get him to take it down a little.

[ It's not working too much though. Slowly, he's going to start rubbing circles against his back. ]

You know, you put a lot on yourself, too.

I'm older though. It's different.

[he leans heavily into the soothing circles]

[ Ren, baby. You aren't that much older ]

Yeah, but you don't have to carry it all alone, you know.

[ He's here and he's ready to carry anything and everything. ]

[He turns his head slightly, eyes heavy-lidded and soft. Looking at Nine with open affection]

I know. We're a team.

[linearcrash]

[ With that look, he forgets how to breath and he feels his heart swell up. He forgets for a moment where they were even going with this conversation. Tipping his head down to bump their foreheads together. It's been his way of greeting and his own way of say just what Ren means to him.

Then his brain starts again and he remembers where he might be going. ]

We are. And we're something more.

[ His voice goes soft with tenderness. ]

So all of those bad dreams, the homesickness, and everything else.... I want to know about them, yo.

[Ren nuzzles back, sighing]

Okay. You win. You're a hard guy to argue with, you know?
